Application

Applying Pretty Handy press-on nails by yourself is quick and easy with the following steps:

Step 1: Select the Nails

It’s always a good idea to try them on your nails without adhesive first, making sure that the shape and size match; if the curve of the nail is not the same with your natural nail, you could apply gentle pressure to slightly bend it in or out for a better fit.

Once selected, lay them out in order of size for easier application.

Step 2: Prep Your Nails

Start by cleaning your natural nails with nail polish remover to remove any oils or residues. Trim and file your nails to your desired length and shape.

If you want Pretty Handy press-on nails to stay in place for longer, try gently filing the surface of your nail in one direction, from bottom to the tip of nails, for a few times.

Remember to use the alcohol pad provided to wipe the surface of the nails, ready for the next step. This removes the residues and helps the adhesive stick better.

Next, use the cuticle stick to gently push back your cuticles. This will give you a clean surface for the Pretty Handy press-on nails.

Step 3: Select and Apply Adhesive Tabs

Pretty Handy press-on nails come with adhesive tabs, sometimes called ‘sticky tabs’.

Pick the right size, which should be slightly smaller than the nail, remove from the base, stick it onto your nail, press down firmly, and then peel off the backing.

Please do not touch the surface of the adhesive once the cover is removed.

Step 4: Apply Pretty Handy Press-On Nails

Hold the tip of your selected press-on nail, place the bottom of it near the bottom of your natural nail, about half to 1mm away from the edge, with an angle, then press down the nail, gently push it towards the bottom edge, and check the fit.

Once happy with the fit, press it down onto your natural nail firmly for 30 seconds to ensure a secure bond.

Repeat the same process for all nails.

Step 5: Shape and Style

If needed, you can trim the Pretty Handy press-on nails to ensure that all edges are smooth. Check if anything is ‘sticking out’ (especially useful if you are wearing complex designs with crystals and/or other accessories on top of the nail surface).

Try not to clip the press-on nails too much as they might break – if you prefer shorter press-on nails, browse Pretty Handy collections for preferable shapes, instead of buying long nails and clipping them off, as this might cause damage.

Step 6: Finishing Touches

Pretty Handy press-on nails have top coat applied and cured; however, if preferred, feel free to apply another layer of top coat nail polish or gel as you like, or even be creative and add more designs.

After application, avoid getting your hands wet for 2 hours, to allow the adhesive to fully set. This will help your press-on nails stay in place for longer.

It’s also advisable to be careful while wearing press-on nails – since the length and strength could differ from your natural nails, it’s better to mind when engaging in activities that require you to use your nails.
